Due to damaged roads at the junction of ORR & Kadubeesanahalli, traffic snarlsare a daily thing, with vehicles blocked up on ORR for several kilometresI have been a resident of Gear Road, Kadubeesanahalli for the past three years. The area has many multi-storied apartments, medium sized shops and flanked by Cessna and Prestige Tech Parks. For the past year, the roads in the area, particularly the ORR connection road, have been badly dug up by teams that laid pipelines for gas and water. The roads are in a terrible state. The children and the elderly have stopped going outside of apartment complexes if they are required to walk or use a two-wheeler. The roads are neither safe nor navigable enough. Though we have three schools in the area, the constant dust from the dug-up roads and massive vehicular pollution due to standstill traffic make it hazardous for children. The problem has been raised through multiple avenues, in meetings with the ward officials, with constant social media updates (two most active Twitter handles being KadubesanhalliRising & SaveBellandur), complaints on BBMP Sahaaya app as well as with the local MLA Aravind Limbavali. The latter assured us of a resolution before the election, but nothing has been done.I filed an application under the Right to Information (RTI) ACT to request information on the road and when it will be fixed. I received only a diminutive response from officials, suggesting there are no further plans to improve this road till 2020.Due to the damaged roads at the ORR-Kadubeesanahalli junction, traffic snarls are a daily occurrence, with vehicles blocked up on ORR for several kilometres. I use a two-wheeler and even then, it takes me 20-40 minutes to cross a 1-km stretch to reach home. Traffic police stand helplessly trying to manage the small resource of road (constantly being hurled abuse at by angry commuters because of the delays). Even the tech parks suffer because of the constant traffic jams and are prevented from opening up alternate gates.I am scared to take my child out. There are no gardens or parks nearby, water tanks run rampantly through the area at high speeds and it feels like we live in a rural municipality even though the area is in middle of ORR tech corridor!
