Kalli Purie, vice-chairperson of India Today Group, has been conferred upon the prestigious "Outstanding Contribution to Media" award in the 11th
edition of All India Management Association's (AIMA) award ceremony held on Wednesday.
The awards aim to promote management in various spheres, including commerce, art, and cinema.
"This award is very special to me, coming in the time of the endless cycles of lockdown and unlockdown of corona, which has tested every dimension of my leadership," Kalli Purie said after receiving the award.
Dedicating the award to India Today Group's newest launch GOOD NEWS TODAY, she further added, "Because this award is for outstanding contribution in media, I would like to dedicate it to our latest and newest launch GNT, a Hindi news channel called GOOD NEWS TODAY. The focus of this channel will be to spotlight the good and the wonderful in our beautiful country. I am deeply grateful to AIMA for encouraging me and my team by giving us this award, which will help us to constantly produce the gold standard of journalism."
Kalli Purie, a graduate from Oxford University, UK in Politics, Philosophy & Economics and the vice-chairperson of the India Today Group since 2017, has been leading the charge at India Today Group by ushering it into the new media age. She is renowned in the industry for her vision to synergize India Today Group's excellence in traditional media with the reach and amplification of new media.
A serial intrapreneur at heart, she brings a rich experience in running a wide range of media properties from television channels, apps, to championing world class events, to devising a social media strategy for the group. Her reputation as a par-excellence ideator and project manager have earned her many laurels over the years, including this most recent one.
