The virtual event saw 28 teams from cities like Kolkata, Mumbai, Moga, Chennai, Kanyakumari, Delhi, Jaipur, Gurgaon, Bokaro, Barrackpore and Thane particicpate. The debate was won by La Martiniere Boys, Kolkata. wm Joint Doctoral Programme lIT-Guwahati and IIT (BHU) Varanasi signed an MoU to start a Joint Doctoral Programme in July 2021. The vision behind this is to build a "Network of Excellence" of all ITs rather than each one striving to become a "Tower of Excellence". Through this collaboration, both institutes are expecting significant boost in high quality research. mn Discussion on the NEP KIIT College of Education, Gurugram, organised an online workshop on "Leading Indian Education in a Global Context: a Policy Initiative" to discuss the new education policy. WW Back to school or not Edtech platform Brainly conducted a survey in India to find out if children missed being at school on Children's Day (November 14). Of the 1631 users who participated, 55.3% said their school had planned a virtual event. A majority 77.4% missed being at school for the celebrations. Speaking of re-opening schools, 47.4% of the students were looking forward to that while 29.4% were unable to decide if they wanted to go back to school or continue online classes. mn Cargill Global Scholars announced Cargill India in partnership with the Institute of International Education (IIE) announced the awardees of the eighth edition of Cargill Global Scholars Programme 2020, which provides financial support to students who demonstrate exemplary academic achievements, leadership potential and study in food, agriculture and risk management. From this year, three new institutions will be included: ICARNational Dairy Research Institute, Karnal; Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana; and University of Agricultural Sciences, Bengaluru. Selected students will receive $2,500 per year for up to two years. wm Micro-internship at NZ The University of Auckland recently launched a virtual micro-internship programme to support the future employability of international students both in New Zealand and those studying with the University from overseas. More details at https: // bit.ly/36vKchO B Winner of the NACDEC i Abhimanyu 3.0, the team from MVJ College of Engineering, Bengaluru, won the first prize in the National Aircraft Conceptual Design Competition III (NACDEC 11) conducted by Design Division of Aeronautical Society of India. Around 100 teams participated and the final winner was announced recently after three rounds of competition. wm Power of Why Challenge The Indian School of Business and Finance (ISBF) announced the opening of registrations for the 20202021 edition of The Power of Why Challenge (POWC), a scholarship programme for Class XII students. The challenge will be held in two rounds over a month, following which two winners will be awarded a 50% waiver on ISBF's tuition fees for the LSE undergraduate programmes taught at ISBF.
