India of future will be innovative,technology driven and sustainable
Politics is the instrument of socio-economic reforms,' said Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport & Highways; Shipping and Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, Government of India in his keynote address, adding that, 'strong political will, complete transparency, fast-track decision making process and honesty are the key factors of development'. He was speaking at the All India Management Association (AIMA) Diamond Jubilee National Management Convention. The two day convention from 27 - 28 September is being held in the National Capital. The theme of the Convention this year is 'Folding the Future In: Reimagining India'.
Delegates from industry, government, media and academia are participating in the two days convention. Thought leaders discussed how India must learn to thrive amidst disruption and be future ready.
Guest of Honour, Babul Supriyo, Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, Government of India during the inaugural session reinforced the need for gender parity and how associations like AIMA can help in pushing this agenda further. Several panel discussions were held on topics of national importance which were addressed by eminent speakers and thought leaders from different spheres of life. The sessions were interactive and thought provoking.
Delivering his special address, Amitabh Kant, CEO, NITI Aayog, Government of India said that India has a special advantage of being a 'young nation' as it is going through a demographic transition. While speaking on urbanisation, Kant said, 'How India embraces the process of urbanisation will define how we reimagine India.'
During his welcome address Sunil Kant Munjal, President, AIMA and Chairman, The Hero Enterprise said the new growth area for India has to be economic opportunities and jobs. He insisted on the need for sustainable and meaningful economic opportunities for all.

Chairman, Manipal Global Education Services in his concluding remarks of the opening session said, To reimagine India, we need an air of optimism and we need hope.'
'There are 25 million young Indians entering the workforce every year. We have to reimagine India, and how we can provide jobs to young India', Pai said.
Rekha Sethi, Director General, AIMA in her introductory remarks said that AIMA has had a fruitful year where several notable activities were undertaken.

During the session 'AIMA Wants to Know' Arnab Goswami, Founder & Editor-in-Chief, Republic TV passionately spoke about journalism, his beliefs and India as a great nation. He shared his views on how the television news boom in the country has connected every citizen to the national mainstream irrespective of their geography or education. The session saw active participation from the audience.
In another session 'Reimagining India', the role of NITI Aayog and the pivotal role it plays in shaping the transformative policies were discussed. Sanjay Kirloskar, Chairman & Managing Director, Kirloskar Brothers Ltd delivered the welcome address for this session. Rajiv Kumar, Vice Chairman, NITI Aayog, Government of India delivered the
keynote address.
A plenary session on The Money Spinner1 was held. It was moderated by Supriya Shrinate, Executive Editor- News, ET Now. Raamdeo Agrawal, Joint Managing Director, Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd was the speaker and Akhil Bansal, Deputy CEO, KPMG India delivered the concluding remarks. The course of Indian economy, stock markets and technological changes disrupting the financial sector were discussed.
The session on 'Reimagining Reality - Future of Indian Cinema' discussed on how the focus of Indian cinema can also become more agenda driven rather than just entertainment. Preetha Reddy, Executive Vice Chairperson, Appollo Hospital Enterprise Ltd delivered the welcome address during this ses-
sion. Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Film Director, Producer and Screenwriter delivered the keynote address. Panellists discussed how new technologies are changing film making and how can film makers achieve the balance between technology and art.
A plenary session 'Aap Ki Adalat' was conducted where Baba Ramdev, Yoga Guru and Founder, The Patanjali Group of Institutions spoke about growth, job creation and manufacturing products which are made in India, for India and global markets. He said that his brand Patanjali has been able to create more than one lakh jobs.
There was a consensus among speakers through the plenary sessions that innovation, gender parity and job creation can lead India towards growth.
